Kribi Seaport to be operational within the second quarter of 2016  

 

According to forecasts of Cameroon government, the first commercial ships will dock at the Kribi seaport built in the southern region of the country in the second quarter of 2016.

The Minister of Economy, Louis Paul Motaze who spoke on the issue on January 18 2015, during a media interview, talked of the period between May and June. He further added that the government is refining texts relating to the creation of the public company responsible for managing the port platform, and the agency which will be responsible for developing an industrial complex around the Kribi port, under the model set up in the port of Tanger in Morocco.

This new port will widen Ovamba’s activities in the importation and customs clearance of business owners in the CEMAC zone.
