Rebecca Enonchong is the founder and CEO of AppsTech, a Bethesda, Maryland-based global provider of enterprise application solutions founded in 1999. AppsTech is an Oracle Platinum Partner with customers in over 40 countries. With offices in various countries including Cameroon, she has become one of the strongest Tech voices in the African technology sector. Widely recognized as a change leader, in 2002 The World Economic Forum of Davos, Switzerland named her a Global Leader for Tomorrow (GLT) along with other tech entrepreneurs such as Google co-founder Larry Page and Salesforce.com CEO Marc Benioff.
Ms. Enonchong is considered one of Africa’s major Thought-Leaders and probably one of the most followed sources for African tech news on Twitter, with over 52 thousand followers. Her handle, @Africatechie, has become a nickname for Enonchong in IT and global business circles.
Ovamba’s COO, Viola Llewellyn, long time friend of Ms. Enonchong stated, “Rebecca is a pioneer in the technology industry and someone I have watched personally grow an entire industry since starting AppsTech in the mid ‘1990s. She was a leader at a time when few Africans, let alone women were seen as gurus, experts, creators or innovators. We are excited to have her on the Board”. Marvin Cole, Ovamba’s CEO said, “We respect her achievements and believe her experience in IT, Africa and in managing a global business across borders, will be extremely valuable as we move into this next phase of continental expansion.”
Ms. Enonchong graduated from the Catholic University of America with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and has a Masters of Sciences degree in Economics. In 2013, she was recognized as a finalist for the African digital woman award. In March 2014, Forbes listed her as one of the ‘10 Female Tech Founders to Watch in Africa’.

Ovamba is a USA founded online platform that connects micro, small and medium sized [“MSMEs”] businesses in Africa with short-term funding. Launched in 2013, Ovamba was created to address the funding gap left by the formal banking sector and Micro-Finance Institutions [MFIs] throughout Africa. At present, this gap alienates the majority of Africa’s economic machine, the MSMEs, because business owners are unable to access capital. To change this, Ovamba connects institutional investors with African businesses and delivers capital faster with more favourable terms than its competitors, (banks, etc.). Ovamba does this via it’s online platform «www.Ovamba.com » and via a mobile app «Ovamba Plus » available from Google App Store.
